Monday Blues (월요병)

Do you also have Monday blues like me? Monday (Woel-yo: 월요) Blues (Byeong: 병) We say "Woelyo-byeong" in Korean. It has already been 10 months, being stuck at home since march due to pandemic. I love travelling and meeting people. I miss coffee time with my friends. I think I won't be the only one that has COVID blues.  Everyday feels the same although Monday is the first day of the week.  Today I feel much more sad, missing those times. How do you spend your time during this difficult time? How do you handle your feelings? Please share your opinions with me and don't forget to like this post!

Korean Cute Slang: Birthday (Gwi Ppa-jin nal)

Korean cute slang:    귀   빠진   날 We use  “ 귀   빠진   날 ” (Gwi ppa-jin nal)  instead of birthday. eg. Today is your  귀   빠진날   이야 ?  (Gwi ppajin nal iya? - Is today your birthday?) 오늘이   너   귀   빠진   날   이잖아    (Oneul neo gwi ppajin nal ijana? - Said when giving a small present) The literal translation is “the day my ears were pulled out”.   I guess the day when the head, including the ears, comes out of a mother’s womb. Someone says, once the baby's ears come out, it is now safe for baby. If you meet a Korean friend, you can say, “ 오늘   너   귀빠진   날이지 ”  (oneul neo gwi ppajin naliji).  생일   축하해 ( Saeng-il chukha-hae - Happy Birthday)
